According to the Spring 2026 Eurobarometer survey, Europeans see the European Union as a source of stability in an unsettled world. They value its peaceful, protective and cooperative nature, as well as the quality of life it helps provide.
At the same time, economic concerns — particularly the cost of living — have grown in recent years, and the overall public mood fluctuates between uncertainty and hope.
The Eurobarometer highlights many trends that have already appeared in previous surveys. However, some indicators also reflect Europeans’ immediate reactions to recent disruptions in the global political and economic environment.
