According to the spring 2026 Eurobarometer survey, Europeans see the European Union as a pillar of stability in a turbulent world, appreciating its peaceful, protective and cooperative nature, while recognising the quality of life it enables, but economic concerns, particularly regarding the cost of living, have increased in recent years, and the overall mood of citizens fluctuates between uncertainty and hope; the Eurobarometer shows many trends already observed in previous surveys, but some indicators reflect Europeans’ immediate reactions to recent disruptions in the global political and economic climate.
